Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Claude Sexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Claude Sexton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Claude Sexton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leo Poe!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sexton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sexton shoots in but no luck this time.
Poe looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Poe looks to land a right hand but Sexton moved out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Sexton on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sexton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poe as he jumps to the side.

Poe throws an overhand right that lands on Sexton's shoulder, as Sexton tries to avoid the shot.
Poe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Good work by Sexton as he checks the leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sexton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

As Poe tries to get set, Sexton tries to push him back and clinch up but Poe manages to avoid the attempt.
Sexton takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Sexton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Poe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sexton is in Poe's guard.
Sexton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sexton wants to control from the top but Poe keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sexton stands and steps away. Poe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Poe swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sexton counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Poe!
Poe pushes Sexton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sexton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Sexton stands up and beckons Poe to his feet.
Poe throws the kick towards the body but Sexton avoids it.
Poe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Sexton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A lazy left from Poe finds it's target.
Poe throws a push kick but Sexton slaps the foot to one side.
Poe misses with a straight right.
Poe throws an overhand right that lands on Sexton's shoulder, as Sexton tries to avoid the shot.
Poe throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sexton lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Sexton shoots in but Poe avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Claude Sexton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Poe is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Sexton wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Leo Poe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Poe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sexton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sexton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Poe's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Poe manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Claude Sexton.
I think Poe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
