Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olaf Bonkers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marshall Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Olaf Bonkers!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Watson and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonkers fails to land the takedown.
Bonkers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Key defends well and Bonkers ends up having to push Key into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Key shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bonkers as he avoids it easily.
Despite the aggression on Bonkers's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Bonkers gets caught flat footed, as Key shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Key wants to control from the top but Bonkers keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bonkers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Bonkers is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Key missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Key throws a strike but Bonkers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Key really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bonkers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Key has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bonkers has managed to get both his arms back between Key's legs - danger averted.
Bonkers wants to control from the top but Key keeps moving.

Key is trying to control the position but Bonkers postures up.
Bonkers cracks Key with a solid left hand.

Bonkers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Key.
Bonkers wants to clinch up but Key keeps it at a distance.

Bonkers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Key's waist but Key gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bonkers off to one side.

As Bonkers tries to get set, Key tries to push him back and clinch up but Bonkers manages to avoid the attempt.

Bonkers jumps into guard, dragging Key to the mat.
Bonkers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Key in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Key stands up over Bonkers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Marshall Key will probably get the nod.

Bonkers is trying to control but Key manages to pass to mount!

Key will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Key is landing with some decent strikes but Bonkers is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Key tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bonkers is looking to improve his position but Key isn't that keen on the idea.
Bonkers tries to hold on but Key pushes him away.

Bonkers is trying to reverse the position but instead Key has taken his back - oops!

Key is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bonkers can do to turn this around?

Key lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Bonkers.

Key is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Bonkers trying to hold on to Key's head to control him but Key postures up.
Bonkers works his way to full guard. Good work.

Bonkers misses the shot to the body.
Bonkers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bonkers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Bonkers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Key closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Key lands in his opponent's guard.

Key is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bonkers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bonkers has escaped and now he's on top!
