PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franklyn Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gruk Jaggar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklyn Robinson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Franklyn Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gruk Jaggar!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaggar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Robinson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jaggar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Robinson!
Robinson is looking to regain half guard here but Jaggar keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robinson prevents Jaggar from moving into mount.

Jaggar stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Robinson shoots in for a takedown but Jaggar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jaggar blocks a head kick by Robinson.
Jaggar appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jaggar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jaggar looking to score a takedown here. Robinson is defending well but Jaggar drives through and ends up in Robinson's guard.
Jaggar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jaggar is fighting to break Robinson's control of his arms but Robinson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jaggar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Robinson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jaggar is looking to pass into half guard but Robinson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Robinson is in guard.

Jaggar looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jaggar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Robinson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jaggar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Robinson is fighting to break Jaggar's control of his arms but Jaggar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Robinson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Robinson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jaggar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It appears Robinson was looking to counter with a kick there.

Jaggar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jaggar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Robinson, who protects the arm well.
Robinson can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee asks Jaggar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jaggar prefers to stall for the moment though.
Robinson is looking for a sweep.
Jaggar is looking to take a break and control but Robinson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Robinson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gruk Jaggar dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Jaggar shoots in and gets a takedown into Robinson's guard.
Robinson wants to control the position but Jaggar says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Robinson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jaggar is working away from the top position though.
Robinson is staying active underneath Jaggar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Jaggar is just content to waste time from the top position. Robinson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jaggar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Robinson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jaggar has picked Robinson up and slammed him! Robinson can't keep hold of the triangle and Jaggar manages to pass to side control!

Robinson is trying to control Jaggar's posture but Jaggar avoids it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jaggar is looking to take a break and control but Robinson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gruk Jaggar has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jaggar wants to control but Robinson is keeping him busy.

Jaggar lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Jaggar has managed to slip his arm under Robinson's chin. This could be all over... yep, Robinson is tapping out! Submission win for Jaggar.
