The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgregor slips under a jab.
Lars Mcgregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big right from Mcgregor misses.
Mcgregor shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hawkins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hawkins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mcgregor throws a big right hand that misses.
Hawkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hawkins holds on and takes a little breather.
Hawkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mcgregor's guard.
Mcgregor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hawkins defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcgregor is trying to hold Hawkins in close to prevent damage but Hawkins has managed to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcgregor is looking to improve his position.
Hawkins maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mcgregor could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Hawkins has cracked it and Mcgregor is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Hawkins!

A very excited looking Barry Hawkins rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
