The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esposito uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kennedy.
Kennedy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kennedy cracks Esposito with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kennedy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kennedy tries to clinch up
and Esposito decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kennedy's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kennedy is trying to control the position but Esposito postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kennedy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Esposito is working away from the top position though.
Esposito looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kennedy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Esposito is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Esposito goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A head kick by Kennedy misses
and Esposito counters by moving into the clinch.
Kennedy gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Esposito looking for a triangle here. Kennedy is fighting it but it looks tight! Esposito pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kennedy is tapping out - this one is all over!
