The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esposito displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Franca throws out the jab.
And Esposito tries to counter it with a takedown but Franca pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Franca throws a body punch but Esposito moves out of range.
Esposito is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Franca scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like Pablo Esposito has been cut.
Franca throws a right hand that misses
and Esposito counters with a single leg into guard. Franca didn't expect that.
Franca looking for a sweep. Not yet Franca, not yet.
Esposito stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Franca has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Esposito manages to get his head free but now Franca has transitioned to an armbar! Esposito grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Franca! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

During a confident post fight interview, Hermes Franca thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
