Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Nitschke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yo Hwan Lim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yo Hwan Lim! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lim scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nitschke darts in and clinches Lim up against the cage. Lim looking to slow down the pace here. Lim wants a takedown but no success here.
Nitschke is pushing Lim up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Lim changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nitschke fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nitschke throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lim shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Damian Nitschke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yo Hwan Lim. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lim throws a series of punches but Nitschke moves out of range. Lim fails with the takedown. Lim tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nitschke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lim somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lim tries a head kick but it misses.
Lim tries to keep at a distance but Nitschke has taken the fight into the clinch. Lim is trying to push Nitschke away but Nitschke has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Lim wants a takedown.
Nitschke swings wildly with an uppercut but Lim uses good head movement to avoid it. Nitschke tries to throw a body punch but Lim avoids it by throwing Nitschke back against the cage. Lim jumps guard but Nitschke stands there with Lim around his waist. Lim gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lim drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nitschke pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nitschke cracks the inside of Lim's front leg. No luck for Lim with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lim throws a half hearted mid kick. Lim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nitschke sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lim throws a head kick that misses and Nitschke counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nitschke is working Lim over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Nitschke trying to control but Lim is working from the bottom. Nitschke is really struggling to control Lim but he's trying to hold on to the position. Lim working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Nitschke has passed into half guard!
Nitschke is pressing down on Lim's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lim is holding on for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nitschke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lim with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We've been hearing good reports from Nitschke's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lim is trying to get back to full guard. Nitschke is keen to just control but Lim is a slippery customer. Nitschke working the head and body with strikes. Nitschke winds up and cracks Lim with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Nitschke scoring with strikes to the body and head. Nitschke working over Lim with some ground and pound. Lim looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are battling for position here. Lim manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Nitschke with a flurry of punches that miss. Nitschke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nitschke throws a big right hand that misses. Lim utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nitschke postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nitschke wants to control from the top but Lim keeps moving. Nitschke landing with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lim working for a triangle but Nitschke defends it easily.
Nitschke throws a big right hand that misses. Nitschke scoring with some ground and pound. Lim avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lim trying to strike off his back.
Nitschke is working Lim over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Nitschke trying to control but Lim is working from the bottom. Lim is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nitschke wants to improve his position but Lim is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Nitschke dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Nitschke. Lim does a little dance to reset his feet. Despite the aggression on Lim's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Lim shoots in for a takedown but Nitschke shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nitschke is fending him off so far but Lim persists. Nope, Nitschke circles away and we're back to standing. Nitschke half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Lim throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nitschke's waist but Nitschke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lim off to one side. Damian Nitschke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yo Hwan Lim. Lim fails with the takedown. Nitschke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lim can do to turn this around? Nitschke lands a slapping body shot.
Nitschke fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nitschke tries to clinch there but Lim circles away.
Lim looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lim ducks straight into an uppercut from Nitschke and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Lim manages to regain guard straight away.
Lim is rocked!
It looks like Yo Hwan Lim has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke gets to his feet and stands over Lim, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Lim felt that one! Nitschke unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Lim from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damian Nitschke! Damian Nitschke really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that BeastMode logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
