Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Kimba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogan Redban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogan Redban has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Kimba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rogan Redban!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimba comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Redban lands with a shot to the body.
A lazy left from Redban finds it's target.
Kimba looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Redban is fending him off so far but Kimba persists. Nope, Redban circles away and we're back to standing.
Redban misses with the combination.
Kimba misses with a lunging right hand

and Redban counters by moving into the clinch.
Redban is trying to drag Kimba to the mat but Kimba just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Redban is looking to control Kimba's arms but Kimba gets an underhook and turns him. Now Redban has his back to the cage.
Redban misses with a knee strike.
Redban misses with some punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimba tries to score a body lock takedown but Redban shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Redban tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kimba's elbow.
Redban avoids the elbow strike from Kimba, against the cage.
Kimba fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Kimba. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kimba has Redban pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Redban manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kimba pushes off an throws an elbow but Redban leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Redban lands with a right to the head.
Kimba lands a damaging elbow.
Redban is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kimba pulls him back up using the underhooks.
With the fighters up against the cage, Kimba throws an elbow but misses.
Redban with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Redban is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kimba gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Redban blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Kimba pulls guard effortlessly.
Redban must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kimba is trying to control the position but Redban postures up.

Kimba has his foot on Redban's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redban works his way back into a safe position though.

Kimba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Redban can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kimba is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kimba is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kimba wants to work for an arm triangle but Redban is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Redban tries to roll over but Kimba keeps him under control.

Kimba throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kimba is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Redban defends it well.

Kimba is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Redban tries to get to full guard but Kimba has control of the leg.
Kimba definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Kimba is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Redban is just riding it out for now. Kimba eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Redban wants to get back to his feet.
Kimba not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Kimba is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Redban sees it coming and defends easily.
Kimba looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Redban with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kimba working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kimba wants to free his trapped foot but Redban is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Redban wants to control but Kimba is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kimba gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kimba throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Redban connects with the punch.
Kimba throws a jab but it's blocked by Redban.
Redban moves forwards but Kimba connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Redban feints and as Kimba raises his hands in defense, Redban changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kimba throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Redban looking to sit in guard and control but Kimba gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kimba looking for a sweep. Not yet Kimba, not yet.
Redban pushes down on Kimba's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kimba trying to hold on to Redban's head to control him but Redban postures up.

Redban is working for a kimura here but Kimba manages to reverse the position and he's now in Redban's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Redban connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Redban steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kimba.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Redban.
Kimba lands with a shot to the body.
Rogan Redban seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Redban takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Redban will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kimba misses with a hook.
Redban walks into a straight right hand from Kimba.
Kimba takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Redban avoids the body shot from Kimba.
Redban swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Kimba punishes Redban's body with a nice straight punch.
Redban throws an overhand right that lands on Kimba's shoulder, as Kimba tries to avoid the shot.
Rogan Redban is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Redban misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Redban scores with a takedown into Kimba's guard.
Redban wants to control from the top but Kimba keeps moving.

Kimba is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kimba is looking for a triangle but Redban pushes his legs off easily.

Kimba working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Redban doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Redban manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kimba is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Redban has his hands clasped together but Kimba extends and breaks Redban's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kimba.
