Seiler has chosen Control - Kendrick Lamar as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Brock Samson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Niklas Seiler's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samson throws a right hand that misses
and Seiler counters with a stiff right hand.
Samson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Seiler lands a two punch combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Samson is looking for a sweep. Seiler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Samson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Seiler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Samson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Samson wants to pass the guard but Seiler is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Samson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Seiler defends it well.

We've been hearing that Samson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seiler is trying to control but can't.

Samson is looking to pass Seiler's guard but actually Seiler recovers to full guard.
Seiler is looking to sweep but instead, Samson has passed into half guard.
Seiler is concentrating on defense, preventing Samson from advancing position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Samson.
Seiler looks winded!

Samson looks to score with a jab to the body but Seiler is just out of range.

Samson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Seilers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Samson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Niklas Seiler has been cut.
Samson throws out a loose jab but Seiler uses good head movement to avoid it.
Seiler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Samson.
Samson throws the left hand but Seiler avoids the punch easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Samson. Seiler does a little dance to reset his feet.
Seiler feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Samson's calf.
Samson throws a hook but Seiler avoids it easily.
Seiler works over Samson's head and body with a nice combination.
Samson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Seiler's waist but Seiler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Samson off to one side.
A head kick misses from Samson.
Samson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A left lands for Samson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brock Samson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Niklas Seiler's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Samson looks to land a right hand but Seiler moved out of range.
Seiler stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Samson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Samson takes a swing at Seiler's ribcage but misses.
Samson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Seiler moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Samson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Samson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Samson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Seiler looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Samson!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Seiler is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Samson is not content to let Seiler control the position.
Samson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seiler moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Samson is looking for a sweep.
Seiler wants to control but Samson is keeping him busy.
Samson is trying to control Seiler's posture but Seiler avoids it.
Seiler in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Samson is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Niklas Seiler decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
