Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alex Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guannis Mantoulidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Alex Lesnar has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alex Lesnar seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Lesnar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Guannis Mantoulidis ! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mantoulidis dodges the punch combination from Lesnar.
Mantoulidis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lesnar wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. A right-left combo lands from Mantoulidis . Mantoulidis tries to clinch up but Lesnar circles away and keeps his distance. Mantoulidis misses with a head kick.
Lesnar drives through with a takedown into Mantoulidis 's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Lesnar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lesnar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Mantoulidis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lesnar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mantoulidis controls Lesnar momentarily but Lesnar frees himself. Mantoulidis keeping full guard, as Lesnar tries to pass. Mantoulidis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mantoulidis throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lesnar uses it to pass to side control.
Lesnar controls the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lesnar shoots in for a takedown but Mantoulidis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mantoulidis . Lesnar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lesnar pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mantoulidis is out of range and Lesnar settles back down. Mantoulidis lands with a slapping head kick. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mantoulidis wants a takedown but no success here.
Alex Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guannis Mantoulidis . Mantoulidis is working for takedown but Lesnar is calmly controlling the position for now. Lesnar breaks the clinch.
Lesnar clinches. Lesnar pulls guard successfully.
Mantoulidis throws a big right hand that misses. Mantoulidis prevents Lesnar from getting back to his feet. Lesnar is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mantoulidis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lesnar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mantoulidis has Lesnar in his guard. Mantoulidis wants to sweep but no luck. Lesnar controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mantoulidis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lesnar is aware though and is defending well.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Lesnar drives through with a takedown into guard. Mantoulidis has his feet on Lesnar's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Lesnar looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Mantoulidis slips under a jab from Lesnar. Excellent takedown into side control there by Lesnar. The referee asks Lesnar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lesnar prefers to stall for the moment though. Lesnar tries to stand but Mantoulidis is controlling his head. Mantoulidis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lesnar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alex Lesnar will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mantoulidis with a poor takedown and Lesnar counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Lesnar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mantoulidis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lesnar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mantoulidis lands a body shot.
Lesnar closes the distance and clinches. Lesnar gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mantoulidis regains guard.
Lesnar tries to stand but Mantoulidis is controlling from the bottom. Mantoulidis working a defensive guard but Lesnar manages to pass into side control anyway.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lesnar tries to advance to mount but Mantoulidis instead regains half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesnar tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mantoulidis . Mantoulidis trying to control from the bottom.
Mantoulidis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lesnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Lesnar not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lesnar moves into range and clinches up with Mantoulidis . Lesnar pushes Mantoulidis back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mantoulidis wants to break free but Lesnar has control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lesnar turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lesnar manages to end up in side control. Mantoulidis bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Mantoulidis shoots and misses and Lesnar counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lesnar. Alex Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guannis Mantoulidis . The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lesnar landing knees to the body.
Lesnar gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mantoulidis regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mantoulidis looking for a sweep. Not yet Mantoulidis , not yet. Alex Lesnar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lesnar controlling from the top position. Mantoulidis looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mantoulidis wants to stand up but Lesnar is controlling him. Lesnar stays in close to Mantoulidis 's body and controls the position. Mantoulidis looking for a sweep. Not yet Mantoulidis , not yet. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Lesnar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lesnar is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lesnar closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mantoulidis quickly recovers to half guard. Mantoulidis has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Lesnar is on him like a limpet, forcing Mantoulidis back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Mantoulidis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mantoulidis is trying to maintain a safe position but Lesnar gets an underhook and turns Mantoulidis into the cage. Lesnar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. Lesnar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lesnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mantoulidis moves away. Mantoulidis shoots in looking for a takedown but Lesnar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mantoulidis 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mantoulidis tries to clinch but Lesnar moves away and Lesnar counters with a single leg into guard. Mantoulidis didn't expect that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mantoulidis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lesnar is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Lesnar dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Lesnar misses with the combination.
Mantoulidis dives in and grabs Lesnar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lesnar pushes down on Mantoulidis 's head and hops out. Mantoulidis connects with a body shot that sends Lesnar's belly button to the back. Mantoulidis is looking to clinch but Lesnar is avoiding it.
Mantoulidis fails to land the takedown. Lesnar shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mantoulidis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mantoulidis is looking to stand back up but Lesnar counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mantoulidis . Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lesnar wants to stand up but Mantoulidis has a hold of him and won't allow it. Lesnar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mantoulidis wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lesnar is trying to work for a kimura but Mantoulidis is defending well.
Lesnar controlling the action here. Mantoulidis is trying to stand up here but Lesnar is controlling him well. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Lesnar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mantoulidis tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lesnar counters with a series of strikes. Mantoulidis will be more careful next time no doubt. Lesnar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mantoulidis can do to turn this around? Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mantoulidis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Mantoulidis bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Alex Lesnar is winning the standup battle so far. Lesnar leaves Mantoulidis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Alex Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guannis Mantoulidis . Mantoulidis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lesnar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mantoulidis ! Mantoulidis being controlled for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lesnar is working to tighten his grip on Mantoulidis 's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mantoulidis has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lesnar is really squeezing tight and eventually Mantoulidis passes out! Lesnar breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
