Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Donovan Swalatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noel Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noel Doyle is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Donovan Swalatti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Noel Doyle!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swalatti keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Swalatti rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doyle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Doyle has closed the distance and engaged Swalatti in a clinch.
A knee to the head by Doyle.

Doyle breaks the clinch.
Swalatti throws a looping overhand right but Doyle ducks down to avoid it.
Doyle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Swalatti counters with a series of strikes. Doyle will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doyle takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Noel Doyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Doyle is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Doyle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Swalatti tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Doyle is in Swalatti's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Doyle's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Doyle is trying to work for a kimura but Swalatti is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doyle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Swalatti fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Doyle has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Doyle.

Swalatti looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Doyle is looking to chop away at Swalatti's legs.

Doyle closes the distance and clinches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Doyle takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Swalatti wants to get up but he can't break Doyle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Swalatti throws a sloppy head kick and Doyle moves out of range easily.

Doyle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Swalatti avoids it really well and circles away.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Swalatti stuns Doyle with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Swalatti lands a nice hook to Doyle's body. Doyle takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Doyle takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Swalatti dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Doyle. That did some damage!

Doyle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Swalatti pinned against the cage. Swalatti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Noel Doyle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Doyle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
