Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Freitag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrick King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freitag comes to the cage accompanied by Limp Bizkit - Break stuff. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Freitag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kendrick King!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Freitag's waist but Freitag gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.
Freitag has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $700 fee) in the buildup to the fight.
King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Freitag sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.
An attempted straight right counter from Freitag misses the target.
Kendrick King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Freitag to the ground. King is now in Freitag's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King has gone for a leg lock! Freitag slips out almost immediately though and dives into King's guard.

Freitag looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
King is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Freitag is nestled in close to King, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Freitag wants to take a breather but King is having none of it.

King has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Freitag is working away from the top position though.
King is looking for a sweep. Freitag is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
King told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Freitag is keen to just control but King is a slippery customer.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Freitag lands a nice short elbow.

Freitag lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Freitag working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
King tries to get to full guard but Freitag has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freitag defends well.
King looks winded!

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Freitag can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Freitag makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

King looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Freitag's corner. There ya go! There ya go!


King is rocked!
Freitag sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed King's guard.
King is still in real trouble! Can Freitag finish him?

King has hold of Freitag's hands but Freitag slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Freitag is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, King is hurt! He's hurt bad - Freitag fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save King from any more punishment! Congratulations to Freitag! Great finish!
