Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Goldberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Igor Zadarozhni! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zadarozhni looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Goldberg is fending him off so far but Zadarozhni persists. Nope, Goldberg circles away and we're back to standing. Goldberg is looking for a counter combo. Zadarozhni closes this distance looking for a takedown but Goldberg circles away. Goldberg throws a wild body kick that Zadarozhni sees coming a mile off. Zadarozhni tries to clinch there but Goldberg circles away.
Zadarozhni closes the distance and clinches up with Goldberg, looking for a takedown. Zadarozhni pushes Goldberg against the cage but Goldberg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bill Goldberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Zadarozhni. Goldberg fails with a takedown attempt. Zadarozhni drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Goldberg defends it well. Goldberg lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Igor Zadarozhni has been cut. Zadarozhni shoots in looking for a takedown but Goldberg manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Zadarozhni's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zadarozhni slips a jab and a cross from Goldberg.
Zadarozhni tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Goldberg swivels and escapes. Igor Zadarozhni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Goldberg darts in and clinches Zadarozhni up against the cage. Goldberg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Zadarozhni gets caught flat footed, as Goldberg shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goldberg is stalling in the full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zadarozhni is on top in guard.
Zadarozhni looks winded! Goldberg pulls Zadarozhni in close to prevent any damage. Goldberg avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Goldberg trying to control the position.
Goldberg is adopting a defensive guard. Zadarozhni loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Zadarozhni postures up and lands a big shot to Goldberg's brow. Goldberg tries to land a sweep but no joy. Zadarozhni working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Goldberg bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zadarozhni's guard. Goldberg looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Goldberg wants to control from the top but Zadarozhni keeps moving. Zadarozhni working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Goldberg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Goldberg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goldberg is stalling in the full guard. We've been informed that Zadarozhni has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Zadarozhni wants to control the position but Goldberg says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zadarozhni can do anything to dispel that myth. Goldberg seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Still in half guard, Goldberg seems content to control. Goldberg has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Goldberg scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Goldberg thows a huge punch but Zadarozhni dodges it nicely.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Zadarozhni has his hands clasped together around Goldberg's back. He's all about the action.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Goldberg dominated that round. The cut man is working on Igor Zadarozhni's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Goldberg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zadarozhni, pushing him back against the cage. Goldberg breaks from the clinch.

Zadarozhni manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Goldberg on his heels. He'll look to pass Goldberg's guard now, I'm sure. Goldberg wants to sweep but no luck. Zadarozhni drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Goldberg dives on top into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goldberg tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Bill Goldberg overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Zadarozhni trying to hold on to Goldberg's head to control him but Goldberg postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Goldberg throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zadarozhni was covering up waiting for the punch and Goldberg finishes the takedown easily into guard. Goldberg trying to control but Zadarozhni is working from the bottom. Goldberg cracks Zadarozhni with a solid left hand. Zadarozhni wants to sweep here but Goldberg controlling him for the moment. Goldberg wants to get up but he can't break Zadarozhni's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goldberg passes easily into side control. Nice work. Zadarozhni is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Goldberg trying to control the position but Zadarozhni is working away. Zadarozhni is being controlled here. Zadarozhni is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Goldberg trying to control the position but Zadarozhni is working away. Goldberg looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goldberg grinds an elbow into Zadarozhni's temple. Check out the look on Goldberg's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Goldberg wants to stand but Zadarozhni has his arm trapped. Zadarozhni is working to avoid the ground and pound but Goldberg connects with a decent elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Goldberg dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Igor Zadarozhni's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Zadarozhni shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Goldberg swats away the attempt to clinch by Zadarozhni. Nice sprawl there from Zadarozhni as Goldberg shoots in. The fight moves into the clinch position. Zadarozhni with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Zadarozhni misses with a knee to the head. Zadarozhni manages to break the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goldberg clinches. Goldberg manages to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Goldberg is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zadarozhni defends well. Zadarozhni trying to control the position from guard on top but Goldberg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Goldberg is trying to control the position but Zadarozhni postures up. Zadarozhni in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Goldberg trying to keep a closed guard but Zadarozhni is proving a slippery customer.
Goldberg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zadarozhni is one step ahead there. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Goldberg has Zadarozhni up against the cage in a clinch.
Goldberg ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Goldberg no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Goldberg keeping moving, preventing Zadarozhni from controlling successfully. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Zadarozhni's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Zadarozhni won't allow Goldberg to get back to his feet. Goldberg has his hands on Zadarozhni's head, controlling the position.

Zadarozhni is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goldberg is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Goldberg would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Goldberg stands up from Zadarozhni's guard - Goldberg perhaps looking for a knockout. Zadarozhni tries for a takedown but Goldberg sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Zadarozhni takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Goldberg feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Zadarozhni thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Zadarozhni looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goldberg is one step ahead there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! And that's the end of the fight! Bill Goldberg showed his dominance in that final round. Well Goldberg has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
