Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Desean Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Desean Bryant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Nick Evans!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. Bryant pushes Evans against the cage but Evans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Evans stuffs the takedown attempt from Bryant. Bryant gets slowly back to his feet.
Evans fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Evans has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bryant is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Bryant shoots and misses
and Evans counters with a good low kick that Bryant was not able to check.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desean Bryant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bryant fails with the takedown.
Bryant is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bryant looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bryant shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bryant closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Evans to the mat! Evans manages to get full guard.
Bryant wants to pass the guard but Evans is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bryant accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bryant drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Evans dives on top into guard.

Evans looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Bryant is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Bryant has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Evans is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bryant.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bryant is looking to regain half guard here but Evans keeps moving and retains side control.
Bryant tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Evans is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bryant's shoulder. That is not cool.
Bryant is trying to get back to half guard.
Bryant trying to remain calm as Evans controls from the top position.
Evans is looking to take a break and control but Bryant is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Evans is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bryant knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Evans in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Bryant is not content to let Evans control the position.

Evans thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bryant tries to buck Evans off but Evans is having none of it.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Let's hope that Evans has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bryant shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Evans defends it nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bryant misses with a takedown
and Evans counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bryant's knee momentarily.
Evans thumps Bryant with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Evans dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bryant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Bryant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bryant pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Evans digs a good body shot into Bryant's ribs.
Evans throws a head kick but Bryant moves out of range.
Evans dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Desean Bryant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bryant darts in trying to clinch
and Evans counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Evans fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bryant has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Evans lands a high kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bryant shoots in for a double leg but Evans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bryant is defended easily by Evans.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desean Bryant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evans digs a good hook to Bryant's body.

Bryant has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bryant avoids the head kick by Evans.
Bryant looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bryant tries for a takedown but Evans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bryant shoots in looking for a takedown but Evans manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bryant's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Evans thinks about the counter body kick.
Nick Evans seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Good standup being displayed there by Evans as he connects with a hook.
Evans scores with a head kick. Bryant tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


Bryant is rocked!
A head kick by Evans - that's a beauty! Bryant is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Evans can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Nick Evans!
