Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darius Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis has a takedown stuffed.

Ellis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sanders is trying to defend but Ellis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Sanders looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Ellis controlling the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis prevents Sanders from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ellis stands up from half guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ellis enables Sanders to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ellis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Sanders is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sanders has gone for a leg lock! Ellis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sanders's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ellis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ellis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sanders working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ellis has passed into half guard!
Ellis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanders. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sanders looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ellis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sanders is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ellis pulls his head out easily.
Ellis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ellis drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sanders has his foot on Ellis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ellis works his way back into a safe position though.
Ellis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ellis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sanders is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ellis is aware though and is defending well.
Sanders is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ellis tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanders is retaining full guard.
Sanders keeping moving, preventing Ellis from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Darius Ellis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ellis shoots for a takedown but Sanders saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sanders closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sanders tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Sanders has hold of Ellis's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ellis seems comfortable defending it but Sanders has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ellis is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ellis is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sanders couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Danny Sanders!
