PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ceasar Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan has chosen Fat Lip as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Olson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ceasar Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Olson as he avoids it easily.
Olson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Morgan sprawls and moves away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Morgan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Olson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morgan was well out of range. Poor timing from Olson.
Olson throws a right hand that Morgan ducks under and follows up with a left that Morgan also avoids with ease.

Morgan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Morgan lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Olson is not content to let Morgan control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Olson is trying to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morgan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Morgan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morgan throws an elbow but Olson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Olson tries to bench press Morgan off him but Morgan keeps the position.
Olson sneaks back into half guard.

Morgan is working for a submission of some sort.
Morgan is thwarting Olson's attempts to control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Morgan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Olson wants to control but Morgan is keeping busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Morgan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Olson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Morgan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Olson!
Morgan lands a big shot there that rocks Olson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Morgan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Olson is on top in guard.

Morgan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Olson is one step ahead there.
Olson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Olson throws a big right hand that misses.
Olson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Morgan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Morgan wants to get back to his feet.
Morgan is trying to get back to full guard.
Olson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Olson wants to pass to mount but Morgan is defending the position.
Olson working over Morgan with some ground and pound. Morgan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Olson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morgan's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ceasar Morgan will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Morgan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Olson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Oooooh!!! Olson has knocked Morgan down with a huge combo! Olson steps away and waves a wobbly Morgan back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Morgan is rocked!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Morgan is still on wobbly legs! Can Olson finish him?
Morgan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Olson walks away with a smile on his face. Morgan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Olson cracks Morgan with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Olson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Morgan to stand back up!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Olson clinches up against the cage.
Morgan is working for takedown but Olson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Olson stops a takedown attempt from Morgan.
Morgan seems to have recovered his senses.
Andrew Olson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ceasar Morgan.

Olson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Olson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Olson wants it to stay on the feet.
Andrew Olson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Olson is pressing down on Morgan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Morgan is looking to advance position but Olson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Morgan bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Morgan is in close to Olson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Olson wants to stand up but Morgan is controlling him.

Morgan tries to free his leg and advance position but Olson is retaining full guard.

Olson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Morgan looking to pass the guard.
Morgan keeps trying to improve his position.
Ceasar Morgan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Olson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Olson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Olson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Morgan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Morgan trying to control but Olson is working from the bottom.
Morgan throws an elbow that misses. Olson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Morgan's guard. Nice move by Olson!

Olson wants to get up but he can't break Morgan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Morgan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Morgan wants to stand and escape but Olson is having none of it.
Olson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Olson looking to sit in guard and control but Morgan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Morgan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Olson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Olson has escaped and now he's on top!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Morgan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Olson defends it nicely.
Olson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Morgan creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Olson is looking to regain half guard here but Morgan keeps moving and retains side control.

Morgan is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Olson is trying to escape and Morgan transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Olson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Morgan! Very nice indeed!
