Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Igor Gago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oskar De La Hoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Igor Gago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Oskar De La Hoya! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De La Hoya keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gago has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gago lands an elbow inside. De La Hoya has clasped his hands together around Gago's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Gago tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but De La Hoya wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. De La Hoya is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gago knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. De La Hoya tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gago takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's one minute gone in the round. De La Hoya scoring with punches and elbows. De La Hoya goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gago rolls with the submission and now he's on top in De La Hoya's guard! Nice work there by Gago! De La Hoya keeping moving, preventing Gago from controlling successfully. Gago content to stall in guard here. Gago won't allow De La Hoya to sweep him here. Gago controlling from the top position. Gago throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as De La Hoya works some decent striking defense from the bottom. De La Hoya looking for a sweep. Not yet De La Hoya, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gago postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. De La Hoya is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. De La Hoya wants to stand and escape but Gago is having none of it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. De La Hoya is trying to keep Gago in close.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gago keeps the fight on the outside. Gago shoots in for a takedown but De La Hoya shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. De La Hoya darts in looking for a takedown but Gago gets double underhooks and turns De La Hoya into the cage. Gago darts in and clinches De La Hoya up against the cage. Gago is defending well against a takedown attempt. De La Hoya tightens his grip and picks Gago up, before dumping him to the ground. Gago manages to land in guard. Gago utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. De La Hoya trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gago wants to sweep but no luck. De La Hoya in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De La Hoya stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Gago has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! De La Hoya manages to get his head free but now Gago has transitioned to an armbar! De La Hoya grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Gago! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Igor Gago! Igor Gago seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
