Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Philo Beddoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beddoe's entrance music is Stranglehold/ Ted Nugent. A fine choice. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philo Beddoe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Bruce! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beddoe misses with a looping left. Beddoe goes for a double leg but Bruce avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bruce continues to drive forward. Bruce wants to counter the offense by Beddoe and move into the clinch position. Bruce thuds his right hand into Beddoe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Beddoe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Beddoe scores with a nice right hand.
Beddoe dives in and grabs Bruce's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bruce pushes down on Beddoe's head and hops out. Beddoe lands the left hand. Nice shot by Beddoe. Beddoe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bruce moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bruce tries to counter with a clinch but Beddoe shakes him off and moves away. Beddoe looks to score with a jab to the body but Bruce is just out of range. Beddoe misses with a hook. Beddoe throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Beddoe avoids a punch combination nicely.
Beddoe looks to land a right hand but Bruce moved out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Beddoe misses with a takedown attempt - Bruce sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Philo Beddoe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beddoe slips under a jab. Jab, jab by Bruce - just one landing. Philo Beddoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Beddoe needs to keep his hands up - Bruce had a free shot at his head there. Beddoe throws a looping overhand right but Bruce ducks down to avoid it. Bruce takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Beddoe with a lazy takedown attempt and Bruce counters with a two punch combo. Beddoe lands a jab to the head.
Beddoe jabs at Bruce's body. Bruce fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Beddoe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Beddoe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A shot to the body from Beddoe misses and Bruce counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bruce tries to bum rush Beddoe with a series of wild strikes but Beddoe uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bruce walks into a jab. Bruce closes the distance and clinches. I was talking to Beddoe's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beddoe working some nice short punches in the clinch. Beddoe scores with a shot to the side of Bruce's head. Beddoe lands a body punch in the clinch. Bruce looks winded! Beddoe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Beddoe fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bruce on the side of the head. Lee Bruce is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Donk. Beddoe catches Bruce right on the button with a cross. Beddoe lands with an overhand left. A right-left combo lands from Beddoe. Beddoe lands a head shot. Beddoe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Beddoe lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. A jab from Beddoe misses. Bruce let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Beddoe lands a nice hook to Bruce's body. Bruce takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Beddoe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bruce manages to avoid it. Beddoe connects with a jab. Beddoe misses with a body shot.

Bruce is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bruce manages to kick Beddoe off! Beddoe jumps back into Bruce's guard. Beddoe drops back looking for a leg! Bruce is in trouble here! Philo Beddoe dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Beddoe is looking for a kimura but Bruce is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Beddoe to get the leverage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bruce can do anything to dispel that myth. Beddoe wants to work for an arm triangle but Bruce is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Beddoe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bruce can do to turn this around? Beddoe working the ground and pound effectively.
Bruce is breathing heavily. Beddoe has hold of Bruce's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bruce manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Beddoe working for a submission but Bruce is keeping him at bay. Beddoe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bruce's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beddoe cracks Bruce with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bruce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beddoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Beddoe has control of Bruce's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bruce regains control of the situation pretty easily.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Bruce looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Beddoe! Submission of the night perhaps?
