Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devon Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andy Finch has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Devon Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Finch!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finch closes the distance and clinches.

Finch has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Paul is trying to keep an underhook but Finch manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Paul has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Finch is on him like a limpet, forcing Paul back against the cage.

Finch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Paul has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Finch.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Finch.
Finch scores with a kick to the body.

Finch gets a double leg takedown into Paul's guard.
Paul wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Finch manages to pass to side control.
Paul really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Finch is controlling the pace.
Finch not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Finch tries to pass to full mount but Paul defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paul wants to get back to his feet.
Finch works his way into side control.

Finch stands up.

Finch gets a clinch.

Finch gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Finch prevents Paul from standing back up.
Finch thows a huge punch but Paul dodges it nicely.
Finch throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Finch slows the pace down in half guard.
Paul tries to kick Finch off but Finch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Paul makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Finch closes the distance and clinches.

Finch has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Paul clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Finch controls the action.
Finch doesn't have the hooks in and Paul manages to turn into his guard.

Finch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paul doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paul manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Finch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Paul manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Finch wants to control from the top but Paul keeps moving.
Finch's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Paul keeping moving, preventing Finch from controlling successfully.
Finch won't allow Paul to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Finch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Paul on his heels. He'll look to pass Paul's guard now, I'm sure.
Paul is looking to stand back up but Finch counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Paul.
Finch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paul's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Finch postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Paul wants to stand and escape but Finch is having none of it.
Finch slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Finch slows the pace down.
The ground and pound from Finch seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Paul is looking to regain half guard here but Finch keeps moving and retains side control.
Paul is trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Finch dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Finch shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paul's guard.

Paul is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Finch presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Finch jumps guard.
Finch looking for a sweep. Not yet Finch, not yet.
Finch wants to hit a switch here but Paul passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Finch there!
You get the feeling that Finch really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Finch is trying to escape the mount.
Finch tries to improve his position but instead Paul has taken his back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Finch staying busy and making it hard for Paul to control.
I really don't envy Finch right now.
Finch is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Will Paul go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Paul has the hooks in. Finch is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Paul passes his arm under Finch's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Finch taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Devon Paul!
