PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Holt McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCoy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Take it Outside. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Holt McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrew Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCoy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Anderson lands a couple of digs.

Anderson won't allow McCoy to get back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown but McCoy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A little jabbing left from Anderson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Holt McCoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Anderson.
McCoy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCoy off to one side.

McCoy parries the strikes from Anderson easily there. Anderson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McCoy to escape.

Anderson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McCoy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
