Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Hendricks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pencil Neck! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendricks moves out of range as Neck throws a body kick.
Neck misses with a takedown attempt - Hendricks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Neck swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Neck throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hendricks looking to score a takedown here. Neck is defending well but Hendricks drives through and ends up in Neck's guard. Neck working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hendricks. Hendricks throwing strikes from guard but Neck blocks nicely. Hendricks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hendricks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Neck working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hendricks. Hendricks trying to control but Neck is working from the bottom. Hendricks missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Neck has his foot on Hendricks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hendricks works his way back into a safe position though. Hendricks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neck lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Neck is working Hendricks over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hendricks is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Neck drops back looking for a leg! Hendricks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hendricks manages to kick Neck off! Neck jumps back into Hendricks's guard. Neck looking to pass the guard. Hendricks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hendricks seems to be working for a kimura but Neck defends the submission attempt. Neck keeps control of the position for the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendricks prevents Neck from standing back up.

Hendricks wants to take a breather but Neck is having none of it. Hendricks sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Neck defending well though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hendricks lands a heavy elbow. Hendricks looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neck is squirming around, avoiding Hendricks's attempts to control the action. Neck tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hendricks avoids the attempt from Neck to control. Hendricks with good strikes from the mount here! Neck working to try and regain half guard.
Hendricks raining down shots from the mount! Hendricks breaks from Neck's wrist control and lands an elbow. Hendricks working the ground and pound effectively.

Neck is rocked! Neck tries to hold on but Hendricks postures up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hendricks is in the full mount, landing strikes. Neck is still in real trouble! Can Hendricks finish him? Hendricks takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Hendricks postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Neck badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hendricks around the waist but Hendricks pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hendricks is the winner by TKO! Hendricks jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Hendricks! An intense looking Tony Hendricks took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'A title shot would be great at 170..But I'll try 185 or even make 155 if the fans want to see it!'. Pencil Neck spoke after the fight, saying 'Dang, I think I broke my hip.'.
