PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brock Heyman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brock Heyman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Finch!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heyman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Finch is pushing Heyman's head away, looking to escape. Heyman manages to hold on to the position though.
Heyman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Finch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heyman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Heyman throws an elbow but Finch slips to the side and avoids it well.
Sloppy strikes there by Heyman.

Heyman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Finch has escaped the position, nice work there.

Heyman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Heyman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Finch wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Check out the look on Heyman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
You can see the frustration on Finch's face as Heyman controls the position.
Heyman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Finch down.
Heyman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Finch keeps working.
Heyman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Heyman in side control, throwing shots but Finch defends.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Heyman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Heyman is looking to take a break and control but Finch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Heyman has hold of Finch's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Finch seems comfortable defending it but Heyman has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Finch is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Finch is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Heyman couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brock Heyman!
A determined Brock Heyman didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
