The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suarez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mariel to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mariel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Suarez managing to control the position.
Suarez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mariel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suarez is pulling down on Mariel's head to control his posture.
Suarez lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Mariel is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Suarez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
