Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Willie Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Best will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Best! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Best with a jab. Sampson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Best connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Best jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Donk. Best catches Sampson right on the button with a cross. Best lands a nice shot to the body.
Sampson shoots in and bounces Best off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sampson chips away with some ground and pound. Sampson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sampson postures up in Best's guard and throws a big left but Best blocks it. Sampson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Sampson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sampson lands a couple of digs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sampson is working the ground and pound from guard. The fighters roll with the hold and Best manages to kick Sampson off! Sampson jumps back into Best's guard. Sampson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sampson postures up in Best's guard and throws a big left but Best blocks it. Sampson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Best, up you get! Sampson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sampson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Randy Best is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Best connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Best lands a slapping body shot.

Sampson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Best defends well and Sampson ends up having to push Best into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Best moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Sampson takes one to the chin there. Best clinches up against the cage. Sampson breaks the clinch.

Best is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sampson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Best uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sampson has time to react. Best jabs Sampson right on the nose. Sampson blinks but takes it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Best clinches with his opponent.
Best has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Best throws a punch but it's blocked by Sampson. Sampson has Best pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sampson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Best tumbling to the mat - Sampson dives into Best's guard. Best wants to stand up but Sampson is controlling him. Sampson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sampson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Best pushes off an throws an elbow but Sampson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Best is trying to break the clinch but Sampson is controlling him. Best has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sampson uses from the top position. Sampson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sampson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sampson throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sampson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sampson stands and steps away. Best gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Best is trying to keep an underhook but Sampson manages to get the takedown into half guard. Sampson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sampson winds up and cracks Best with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Sampson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sampson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sampson lands strikes from half guard. Sampson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Best has managed to free his arm - good work.

This has been an exciting period of action! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Willie Sampson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sampson stalling. Sampson working the head and body with strikes. Best is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sampson scores with a couple of nice shots. Sampson controlling the action here. Sampson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Best with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sampson connects with a nice short shot to Best's temple. Sampson winds up and cracks Best with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Sampson not doing much here.
Sampson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sampson content to control rather than advance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sampson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willie Sampson dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Sampson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Sampson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Best lands a head shot. The fighters circle momentarily. Best darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Best with a hook. Best is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Best cracks Sampson with a right hand to the side of the head. Sampson takes one to the side of the head.
Best lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice shot lands for Best. Best gets caught flat footed, as Sampson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Best really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sampson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sampson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Sampson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Sampson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Best smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Best forces Sampson back against the cage and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Sampson. Sampson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Best fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sampson drops his hands momentarily and Best takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Best misses with a double jab
and Sampson counters with a shoot takedown. Best fights it but they end up in guard. Sampson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Sampson stands up and waves to Best to follow him. Sampson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Best on his heels. He'll look to pass Best's guard now, I'm sure. Sampson controls from within his opponent's guard. Sampson chips away with some ground and pound. Sampson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Best takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Best preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sampson throwing strikes from guard but Best blocks nicely. Best has momentary wrist control but Sampson slips an elbow through the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sampson lands a couple of digs. Sampson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sampson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Best's head. Sampson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Sampson stands up over Best, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sampson is working Best over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Sampson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Best is rocked! Sampson stands and steps away. Best gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Best cracks Sampson with a good jab. Best rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sampson counters by moving into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Willie Sampson. I think Sampson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
