The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eriksson blocks a head kick by Royal.
Royal moves out of range of the strikes.
Eriksson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Royal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Royal misses with a series of wild punches.

Royal stalks Eriksson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Eriksson's face. Eriksson staggers backwards, shaken.
We've been hearing reports that Eriksson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Eriksson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Royal clobbers Eriksson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Eriksson dodges the punch combination from Royal.

Royal throws a nice looking combination but Eriksson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Eriksson counters with a crisp one two that drops Royal! Eriksson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Royal to his feet! Royal is in big trouble!

Royal throws an overhand right that lands on Eriksson's shoulder, as Eriksson tries to avoid the shot.
Eriksson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Royal is still on wobbly legs! Can Eriksson finish him?

Eriksson feints and as Royal raises his hands in defense, Eriksson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Royal pulls Eriksson in close to his closed guard and prevents Eriksson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Royal looks winded!
Eriksson trying to control but Royal is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Royal trying to keep a closed guard but Eriksson is proving a slippery customer.
Royal seems to have recovered his senses.
Eriksson trying to control the position from guard on top but Royal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Royal wants to get back to his feet but Eriksson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Eriksson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Royal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
