The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Staples looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Brooks defending well as Staples loads up on a big left hand.
Brooks lands a right hook to the body.
We've been informed that Staples has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Staples gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Staples misses with a left hand
and Brooks counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Staples thinking.
Staples throws a push kick but Brooks slaps the foot to one side.
Brooks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Brooks dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Staples blocks a head kick by Brooks.

Staples looks for the body kick but Brooks saw that one coming.

Staples takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Brooks smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Staples takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Brooks lands a big right hand that sends Staples crashing to the mat! Brooks stays standing though and waves Staples back to his feet!
Staples walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Brooks swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
