Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Embernate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gabriel Souza!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Embernate throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Souza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Embernate is in Souza's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Embernate accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Souza has his foot on Embernate's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Embernate works his way back into a safe position though.

Souza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Embernate manages to get himself to full guard.

Souza seems to have recovered his senses.

Embernate manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Souza enables Embernate to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Souza manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Embernate shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Embernate was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Embernate looks up at the clock and then as Souza takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Embernate smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

It looks like Gabriel Souza has been cut.

Embernate creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Souza sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Embernate lands a strong strike to the head of Souza. That's dazed him! Embernate looking to finish here. Souza is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Embernate lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
