Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Metsa Aff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Hoover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoover has chosen Godsmack - I Stand Alone as his entrance music. Metsa Aff has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Metsa Aff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dominic Hoover! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoover swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aff takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hoover throws a leg kick but Aff checks it. Hoover lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Aff misses with a looping left. Hoover throws a counter combo. Aff has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ultimate MMA Training Center in the buildup to the fight. Hoover's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hoover duly obliges. Hoover misses with a wild combination.
Aff misses with a straight left. A momentary lapse in concentration from Aff enables Hoover to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aff manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aff keeping moving, preventing Hoover from controlling successfully. Hoover chips away with some ground and pound. Aff is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hoover pushes down on Aff's leg and manages to get into half guard. Aff looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hoover has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Aff trying to hold on to Hoover's head to control him but Hoover postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoover passes to side control. Aff is trying to get back to half guard. Aff is letting Hoover control him for a moment. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Aff parries the strikes from Hoover easily there. Hoover is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Aff to escape.
Hoover wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aff, who protects the arm well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Aff keeps Hoover under control for a moment. You can see the frustration on Aff's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aff seems a little lost for a moment, as Hoover dominates the positioning. Hoover sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Aff is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoover is working Aff over with some ground and pound from side control. Aff is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hoover's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Aff is looking to control Hoover's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aff avoid being mounted? Hoover wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aff keeps working. Hoover is keeping the position for now. Aff pushes down on Hoover's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hoover is trying to get back to full guard. Aff is trying to control. Hoover wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hoover wants to get back to full guard. Hoover keeps trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Aff is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hoover has managed to free his arm - good work. Hoover is trying to get back to full guard. Aff tries to clinch but Hoover moves out of range. Hoover takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Aff jabs Hoover to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hoover dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Aff takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Aff throws out a loose jab but Hoover uses good head movement to avoid it. Aff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hoover lands a jab to Aff's midsection. Hoover shoots in for a takedown but Aff shows good takedown defense. Aff was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Nice shot by Aff. Aff moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Hoover has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hoover throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aff. Hoover shoots and misses letting Aff counter with a right hand. Dominic Hoover seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoover takes a body punch but keeps moving. Hoover lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Aff misses with a few strikes there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aff controls Hoover momentarily but Hoover frees himself. Hoover looking to pass the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoover accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hoover tries to free his leg and advance position but Aff is retaining full guard. Aff can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hoover controls the pace. Aff throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Hoover trying to control the position from guard on top but Aff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hoover misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Aff lands with a light punch inside. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aff misses with a punch to the body.

Hoover is trying to push Aff away but Aff has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Hoover's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Aff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hoover fails to land with a series of punches.
Aff tries to clinch up but Hoover circles away and keeps his distance. Hoover is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Aff rather than just go for the knockout. Aff is looking to clinch but Hoover is avoiding it.
Aff gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hoover pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Aff jabs at Hoover's body. Aff uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hoover has time to react. Aff leaves Hoover with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Aff wants to clinch up but Hoover keeps it at a distance. Hoover misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Metsa Aff will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Hoover is stalling here. Aff is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hoover seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Aff has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Aff taking a breather here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoover tries to buck Aff off but Aff is having none of it. Hoover sneaks back into half guard. Hoover on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hoover trying to control but Aff postures up.

Aff connects with a couple of short punches. Aff loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hoover pulls Aff in close to prevent any damage. Aff throwing strikes but missing. Aff missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Our spies down at at Body Pain_12elite_599$+VM inform us that Hoover has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Aff trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hoover is trying to control the position but Aff postures up. Aff sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aff landing some decent shots from guard. Hoover is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Dominic Hoover has got the better of the ground game so far. Aff is trying to get back to full guard. Hoover working over Aff with some ground and pound. Aff looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hoover wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aff keeps working. Aff is trying to maintain the position but Hoover is very close to passing his half guard. Hoover working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Aff tries to get to full guard but Hoover has control of the leg. Hoover seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Aff does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Dominic Hoover decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
