Coscetto has chosen Hypnotize as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Coscetto!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coscetto throws a head kick that half lands.
Coscetto lands with a nice combination. Montoya backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Cedrick Montoya has been cut.
Coscetto stuffs the takedown.

Coscetto gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Montoya is looking to control Coscetto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Montoya avoid being mounted?
Coscetto tries to stand but can't do so whilst Montoya controls his leg.
Coscetto looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Montoya really is a fat lump.
Coscetto misses with a head shot. Montoya uses the momentum to regain guard.

Coscetto preventing the sweep.
Montoya can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Coscetto controls the pace.
Montoya wants to sweep but no luck.
Coscetto is pushing down on Montoya's leg trying to pass to half guard. Montoya is fighting to maintain full guard but Coscetto has managed to sneak the leg through.
Montoya keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Coscetto is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Coscetto decides to stand and escape the position.

Montoya tries to keep at a distance but Coscetto has taken the fight into the clinch.

Coscetto breaks from the clinch.
Coscetto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Coscetto wants it to stay on the feet.
A left and a right from Coscetto both land. Nice combination.
Coscetto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Coscetto with the counter takedown but Montoya avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cedrick Montoya. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Montoya is rocked!
Coscetto throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Montoya crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). David Coscetto!
A less than humble David Coscetto misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
