Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryo Takajiri!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takajiri closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Cross really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cross looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Takajiri missing with a left hand there. Cross was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Takajiri lands with a good body shot.
Takajiri throws a one two combo.
The fighters circling - Takajiri throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Takajiri pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A jab from Takajiri does it's job there.
Cross takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Takajiri will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
We've been told by Cross 's head coaches at Cozad MMA London that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cross fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Takajiri scores with a nice right hand.
Takajiri has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cross is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Cross closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Takajiri throws a good cross that connects.
Takajiri bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cross 's head.
Takajiri lands with an uppercut that bounces Cross off the cage and back into range.
Cross doesn't manage to clinch there - Takajiri circles away.
Cross keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Takajiri.

Takajiri is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cross had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Takajiri lands a jab to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takajiri works the jab nicely.


Cross is rocked!
Takajiri lands a hook that stumbles Cross back into the cage. Takajiri follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Cross to the canvas! Takajiri pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Cross has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ryo Takajiri!
