Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joao Magalhaes !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mon Vin!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vin fails with the takedown.
Magalhaes stuffs the takedown.
Vin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Magalhaes 's waist but Magalhaes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vin off to one side.
Joao Magalhaes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mon Vin.
Vin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Magalhaes sneaks out the side door and pushes Vin away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Vin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Magalhaes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A punch combination from Vin misses.
Magalhaes gets caught napping as Vin dives in and scores a takedown. Magalhaes manages to retain guard.
Vin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Magalhaes is breathing heavily.
Magalhaes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vin.
Magalhaes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Vin bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Magalhaes ! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Magalhaes is rocked!
Vin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Magalhaes , up you get!
Oh Magalhaes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Vin knocks Magalhaes out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mon Vin!
