Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Olen Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rune Anki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Olen Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rune Anki!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd looks for a takedown but Anki sprawls well.

Kidd closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Anki did well to prevent Kidd getting side control.
Kidd perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kidd gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Anki doesn't manage to clinch there - Kidd circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Kidd misses its target.
Anki tries to clinch but Kidd moves out of range.

Anki clinches up with Kidd and pushes him back against the cage.
Kidd keeps control of Anki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kidd has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Anki after a bit of a struggle.

Anki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Anki throws a sloppy head kick and Kidd moves out of range easily.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Anki.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Anki clinches.
Anki is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kidd gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kidd goes for a takedown attempt but Anki pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olen Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anki rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kidd counters with a low kick, right behind Anki 's knee.
Kidd keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kidd appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Anki tries to clinch but Kidd is having none of it.
Rune Anki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anki looks to throw the jab but Kidd is out of range.
Anki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kidd counters with a body kick.

Anki tries to clinch up
and Kidd counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Anki fails with an attempt to clinch.

Anki rushes Kidd and presses him up against the cage.
Kidd is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Kidd is pushing Anki up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Kidd seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Kidd wants the takedown. Anki is fighting it off but Kidd persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Anki's guard against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kidd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Anki, up you get!
Kidd darts in looking for a takedown but Anki gets double underhooks and turns Kidd into the cage.

Anki closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Anki can't break the clinch.
Kidd is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Anki pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Anki manages to pull guard.
Kidd scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Kidd stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Anki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kidd manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Anki throws an overhand right that lands on Kidd's shoulder, as Kidd tries to avoid the shot.
Anki throws the left hand but Kidd avoids the punch easily.
Anki stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Anki moves into the clinch successfully.

Anki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kidd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anki sprawls well. Anki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kidd gets slowly back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kidd or perhaps it was just good defense by Anki, which made it look bad.
Anki wants to counter with a clinch but Kidd pushes him away.
Kidd is breathing heavily.
Anki scores with a one two! Kidd had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Anki lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rune Anki dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Anki has closed the distance and engaged Kidd in a clinch.
Kidd stalling the fight.

Anki manages to pull guard.

Kidd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kidd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Anki wriggles free and stands up.
Anki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kidd half committed to a counter leg kick.
Kidd shoots in looking for a takedown but Anki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kidd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Anki swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anki clinches up with Kidd and pushes him back against the cage.

Anki tries to circle away but Kidd has him pinned against the cage.
Kidd goes for a takedown in the clinch but Anki prevents it.
Kidd is working for takedown but Anki is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olen Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Anki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Anki moves into the clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Anki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kidd.
A frustrated look appears on Anki's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Anki manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Kidd gets to his feet - Anki follows without any prompting.
Kidd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kidd shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Anki has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kidd is on him like a limpet, forcing Anki back against the cage.

Anki breaks from the clinch.
Kidd defending well as Anki loads up on a big left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anki throws a lazy right hand but Kidd sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Anki throws a head kick that misses.
Kidd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Anki.
Kidd throws a big counter combination but Anki scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kidd tries to move into range but Anki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Olen Kidd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kidd or perhaps it was just good defense by Anki, which made it look bad.
Anki tests Kidd's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kidd throws a nice head kick!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kidd.
Anki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kidd swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Anki smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kidd shoots and misses
and Anki counters with a straight right hand.
Anki throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Anki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kidd on the side of the head.


Kidd is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Anki closes the distance looking for a takedown. Kidd stuffs it but Anki still has hold of him. Anki picks Kidd up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Anki slams Kidd to the floor and that's really hurt Kidd - he doesn't know where he is! Anki throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rune Anki!
