Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nickey Spillane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nickey Spillane is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nickey Spillane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timur Rubin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubin throws a hook but Spillane blocks it.
Rubin throws an overhand right that lands on Spillane's shoulder, as Spillane tries to avoid the shot.
Rubin scores with a jab to the head.
Rubin misses with a hook.

Spillane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Spillane tries to clinch but Rubin is having none of it.
Spillane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rubin moves away.
Rubin looks to land a right hand but Spillane moved out of range.
Spillane turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spillane avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Spillane misses the target.
Spillane drops his hands momentarily and Rubin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nickey Spillane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

My spies in Gym Beam inform me that Rubin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rubin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Spillane's head.
Rubin wants to free his trapped foot but Spillane is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Spillane throws a hook to the side of Rubin's head but Rubin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Spillane's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Spillane duly obliges.
Rubin scores with the left hand. Spillane knows he should have avoided that one.
Rubin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Spillane finds it's way round the side to connect with Rubin's head.
Rubin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spillane.
Rubin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Spillane walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rubin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spillane paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rubin throws a looping overhand right but Spillane ducks down to avoid it.

Rubin lands with a right to the head.
Spillane struggles to land a body shot inside as Rubin controls his hands.
A left hand lands to the body for Rubin.
Spillane doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rubin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rubin blocks an uppercut.

Spillane misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Spillane tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Rubin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spillane's guard.

Spillane's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rubin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Spillane scrambles back to his feet.

and Rubin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Rubin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circle momentarily. Rubin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Spillane throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Spillane throws a jab but it's blocked by Rubin.
Spillane is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rubin.
Rubin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spillane stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A close second round but Timur Rubin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Timur Rubin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rubin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
