The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barber fails with a takedown attempt.
Ashton closes the distance and clinches.
Barber is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ashton pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Barber wants to stall.
Ashton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barber walks away with a smile on his face. Ashton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ashton throws a sloppy head kick and Barber moves out of range easily.
Barber seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Ashton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ashton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barber was covering up waiting for the punch and Ashton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Barber pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Barber tries to land a front kick but Ashton steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Barber shoots in and bounces Ashton off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ashton is looking to stand back up but Barber counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ashton.

Ashton goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

I would just about give that final round to Christian Ashton.
Well Ashton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
