The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mudgett lands with an uppercut that bounces Corrida off the cage and back into range.
Corrida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mudgett.
Mudgett has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Corrida has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Corrida throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Mudgett throws a hook to the side of Corrida's head but Corrida sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Herman Mudgett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Corrida scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mudgett doesn't seem bothered though.

Corrida takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Corrida cracks a nice hook into Mudgett's ribs.

Corrida is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Mudgett rather than just go for the knockout.
Corrida connects with a leg kick. Mudgett looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Corrida throws a nice outside leg kick.
Corrida keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mudgett does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Crunch! Corrida slams his shin into Mudgett's torso.
Mudgett misses with a hook.
Corrida dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mudgett takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Mudgett looks to throw the jab but Corrida is out of range.
Corrida appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Corrida lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mudgett takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mudgett crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Corrida - the referee stops the clock and Mudgett gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Corrida. Mudgett manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mudgett doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Corrida, right into the meat.
A head kick misses from Mudgett.
Corrida scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mudgett sneaks out the side door and pushes Corrida away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Corrida changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Corrida moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mudgett takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mudgett takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mudgett on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Corrida. Corrida obviously looking to wear him down.
Mudgett lands a jab to the nose.
A big head kick from Corrida and Mudgett is sent sprawling to the canvas!
Mudgett is rocked!
Corrida drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Corrida seems to have locked his on tight now - Mudgett screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Corrida, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Juan Corrida!
Juan Corrida bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
