Liston kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Mama Said Knock You Out-LL Cool J. Powers has chosen Black Betty as his entrance music. Kenny Powers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Powers misses with a combination

and Liston counters with a series of strikes that sends Powers to the canvas! Liston follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Powers is rocked!
Liston is looking to stand up but Powers won't let him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Powers is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Powers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Liston has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Powers off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Powers throws a looping overhand right but Liston ducks down to avoid it.

and Powers counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Liston!

Liston has one foot on Powers's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Liston throws a series of punches but Powers moves out of range.
Liston misses with the combination.
Liston is breathing heavily.

Powers misses with a few strikes there.
Powers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Powers throws a combination that misses
and Liston counters with a one-two to the body.
No joy there for Liston, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Powers should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Powers misses with a hook.
Liston throws a series of punches but Powers moves out of range.

and Liston counters with a two punch combo.
Liston walks into a straight right hand from Powers.
Powers showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Liston.

and Liston counters with a left and a right that hurts Powers! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Liston jumps into full mount!
