Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Kahne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Pacquiao! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pacquiao fails with the takedown. The fight stays on the outside here - Pacquiao looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kahne throws out a powerful jab. Pacquiao misses with a takedown attempt and Kahne counters with a stiff right hand. Pacquiao takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pacquiao misses with a takedown attempt - Kahne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ken Kahne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Pacquiao. Kahne scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pacquiao in his tracks. Pacquiao fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. As Pacquiao looks to move away, Kahne throws a big counter combo bu Pacquiao just gets out of the way. Kahne bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pacquiao's head. Kahne slaps away a takedown attempt from Pacquiao, before circling back to the center of the mat. Pacquiao is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice sprawl there from Kahne as Pacquiao shoots in. Pacquiao gets the takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kahne sneaks back into half guard. Kahne regains full guard. Nicely done. Kahne is controlling Pacquiao's posture. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kahne is on top in guard.
Kahne chips away with some ground and pound. Kahne works over Pacquiao with some ground and pound from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pacquiao can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kahne controls the pace. Kahne's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pacquiao wants to stand but Kahne is controlling the position. Kahne stays in close to Pacquiao's body and controls the position. Kahne postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kahne sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pacquiao's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kahne is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kahne seems to be working for a kimura but Pacquiao defends the submission attempt. Kahne is trying for a kimura here. Pacquiao looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kahne wins by kimura!
