Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Cleary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Turner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Cleary! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Turner! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cleary is out of range. Turner throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Cleary drives through and clinches with Turner against the cage.
Cleary successfully pulls guard.
Turner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cleary working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Turner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Turner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Turner controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cleary looking for a guillotine here but Turner defends easily.
Cleary bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turner's guard.

You can see the frustration on Turner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Turner tries to bench press Cleary off him but Cleary keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner prevents Cleary from moving into mount. Turner can't do much from the bottom here. Cleary wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Turner, who protects the arm well. Turner tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cleary is trying to get an arm triangle but Turner is defending well. Cleary tries for a kimura but Turner is defending well. Cleary advances nicely into full mount. Cleary is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Turner is in real trouble.
Cleary is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Turner knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Turner for a finish. Cleary working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Turner pulls Cleary in close to prevent any damage. Turner is continuing to stall. Turner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Turner is adopting a defensive guard. Turner is trying to control the position but Cleary postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cleary might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cleary drops back looking for a leg! Turner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Turner manages to kick Cleary off! Cleary jumps back into Turner's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. A solid body kick from Turner. Turner keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cleary. Turner is trying to counter with his kicks. Cleary looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cleary tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Turner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cleary avoids a kick to the body.
Cleary throws a hook but Turner blocks it. Turner shapes to counter with a head kick. Cleary is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turner can do to turn this around? Turner tries to keep at a distance but Cleary has taken the fight into the clinch. Turner avoiding damage as Cleary throws knees to the body.
Turner blocks a body shot from Cleary. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Turner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Turner tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Turner stalling in the clinch but Cleary improves position. Turner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cleary clinches.

Patrick Cleary overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cleary tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cleary has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Turner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cleary throws his legs up looking for a submission but Turner uses it to pass to side control.

Cleary throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Turner sees it coming and avoids it easily. Turner ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. It seemed like Turner was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Turner throws a low kick, looking for Cleary's leg but Cleary calmly moves out of range. Cleary is looking to clinch but Turner is avoiding it.
Cleary shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Turner keeping control of the position. Cleary is nestled in close to Turner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turner is looking for a sweep. Cleary is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cleary wants to pass the guard but Turner is defending well. Cleary looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
