Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jericho Reaver Ii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liam Christopher! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reaver Ii misses with the combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Christopher! But no joy. Jericho Reaver Ii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Christopher blocks a head kick by Reaver Ii.
Christopher gets in close and instigates a clinch. Reaver Ii on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Christopher tries to throw a body punch but Reaver Ii avoids it by throwing Christopher back against the cage. Christopher manages to break the clinch.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Christopher. Reaver Ii tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Reaver Ii is bucking up trying to escape but Christopher cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Christopher is in the full mount, landing strikes. Reaver Ii's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Christopher controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christopher raining down shots from the mount! Reaver Ii is in a horrible position here. Christopher smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Christopher lands a couple of good shots and Reaver Ii has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Christopher connects with a big shot to the side of Reaver Ii's head.
Christopher lands punches and elbows. Christopher lands with a hammerfist to the side of Reaver Ii's head. Christopher has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Reaver Ii. Christopher lands strikes to the head. Christopher lands with a hammerfist to the side of Reaver Ii's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Christopher is punishing Reaver Ii with some ground and pound. Christopher is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Reaver Ii won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Christopher off his unconscious opponent!
