The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head slips under a jab.
Teixeira fails with a takedown attempt.
Teixeira tries to bum rush Head with a series of wild strikes but Head uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Head looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A decent looking cross lands there for Head.
It looks like Paul Teixeira has been cut.
Head darts in and clinches Teixeira up against the cage.
Head swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Head makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Head lands a left hand.
Teixeira misses with a body punch.
Teixeira is trying to break free.
Teixeira blocking some punches.

Head lands a right hand.
Teixeira escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Teixeira is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Head.

Teixeira takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Teixeira loads up on a big right hand but Head slips the punch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Teixeira darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Head scores with a crisp jab that stopped Teixeira in his tracks.

Head clobbers Teixeira with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Teixeira's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Head connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Teixeira scrambles back to his feet.
Teixeira misses with a straight right.
Head tries to counter by clinching up but Teixeira breaks away and moves out of range.
Head ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Nice defenses there by Teixeira.
Teixeira feints the counter takedown.
We've been informed that Teixeira has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Head swinging wildly here.
Head dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Teixeira throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Teixeira misses with a few strikes there.

Teixeira is still on wobbly legs! Can Head finish him?
Head cracks Teixeira on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Teixeira falls backwards against the cage. Head follows up with more strikes that drop Teixeira to his knees. Head keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Teixeira! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Garrick Head!
