Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Ayers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joran Jorvanski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tomas Ayers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joran Jorvanski!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jorvanski manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ayers on his heels. He'll look to pass Ayers's guard now, I'm sure.

Ayers manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Ayers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ayers goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jorvanski prevents it.

Jorvanski has Ayers pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jorvanski pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ayers tumbling to the mat - Jorvanski dives into Ayers's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ayers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jorvanski prevents Ayers from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Ayers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jorvanski pushes Ayers off looking to stand but Ayers dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ayers thows a huge punch but Jorvanski dodges it nicely.

Ayers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jorvanski is trying to stand up here but Ayers is controlling him well.

Ayers is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jorvanski is refusing to be controlled, as Ayers sits in half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jorvanski can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ayers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Joran Jorvanski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jorvanski tries to land a front kick but Ayers steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jorvanski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ayers.
As Jorvanski looks to move away, Ayers throws a big counter combo but Jorvanski just gets out of the way.

Ayers throwing a counter right hand but Jorvanski manages to avoid it.

That was a close round but I would say that Tomas Ayers will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ayers throws a big counter combination but Jorvanski scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.


It looks like Tomas Ayers has been cut.
Jorvanski lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ayers's sensitive parts.

Ayers is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jorvanski has hold of one of Ayers's legs. Ayers is fighting the takedown attempt but Jorvanski gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Ayers lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ayers avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ayers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jorvanski throws a head kick that half lands.

Ayers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jorvanski pinned against the cage. Jorvanski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomas Ayers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jorvanski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ayers's half guard.
Jorvanski scores with a big shot! Ayers's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Ayers! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
