Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valentin Gilliam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, iRage Night!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Night is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gilliam's half guard.
Gilliam tries to kick Night off but Night keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Night performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Night passes to full mount!
Gilliam regains half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gilliam looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Night sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gilliam defending well though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Night frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Night scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Gilliam?
Gilliam is trying desperately to improve position.
Gilliam manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Gilliam, under a barage of strikes from Night.
Night thows a huge punch but Gilliam dodges it nicely.

Night controlling the action here.
Let's hope that Night has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Gilliam is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Night scores with a couple of nice shots.

Night thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gilliam's head.
Gilliam has hold of Night's hands but Night slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Night passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gilliam!
Gilliam is squirming around, avoiding Night's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Night is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gilliam has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gilliam keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gilliam is squirming around, avoiding Night's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gilliam avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gilliam shoots in but no luck this time.

Night looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gilliam!

Gilliam sneaks out the side door and pushes Night away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Gilliam gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gilliam wants to stand and escape but Night is having none of it.
Gilliam avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Night controlling from the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Night wants to get up but he can't break Gilliam's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Night got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gilliam has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Night has managed to get both his arms back between Gilliam's legs - danger averted.
Night is looking to stand up but Gilliam won't let him.
Night is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Night stuffs the takedown.

Night drives through and clinches with Gilliam against the cage.

Night works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Night wants to stand but Gilliam has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Night trying to control the position from guard on top but Gilliam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gilliam working for a triangle but Night defends it easily.
Night wants to control from the top but Gilliam keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Night is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Night throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gilliam works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Night stands and throws Gilliam's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Night tries to stand but Gilliam is controlling his head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Night wants to take a breather but Gilliam manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Night.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Night is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Night has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gilliam is wriggling around but Night manages to pass to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, if Night is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

iRage Night showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


No luck for Gilliam with that takedown attempt.
And Night tries to counter it with a takedown but Gilliam pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Gilliam is looking to stand back up but Night counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Gilliam.

Night is taking a breather. Gilliam says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gilliam is staying active underneath Night, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Night is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gilliam has managed to free his arm - good work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Night wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gilliam keeps working.
Night wants to stand up but Gilliam has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Night with the ground and pound but Gilliam uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Gilliam is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Night is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Night fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gilliam sprawls well initially but Night persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gilliam is trying to stand up here but Night is controlling him well.
Night wants to get back to his feet.
Night missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Night is looking to take a break and control but Gilliam is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Night is taking a breather. Gilliam says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Night throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Night wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gilliam keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Night darts in and clinches Gilliam up against the cage.
Gilliam has Night pressed against the cage, preventing Night from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gilliam gets control of Night's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gilliam will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Night passes into half guard.
Night controlling the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
iRage Night comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Night has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
