3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brent Squires! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Denis. Denis fails to land the takedown. Squires shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Denis is breathing heavily. Squires decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Brent Squires seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Denis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Squires looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Denis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Squires lands with an uppercut that bounces Denis off the cage and back into rage. Squires closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Squires trying to control the position but Denis is working away. Squires lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Denis takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Denis tries to strike but it doesn't land. Denis tries to escape but Squires is in control. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice sprawl there from Denis as Squires shoots in. Denis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Squires! Squires keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Brent Squires comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Squires has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
