0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dwayne Franks! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franks misses with a double jab.
A little feinted left hand from Valley on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. A shot to the liver by Valley. Beautiful body shot. Valley moves into range and connects with a jab. Franks lands with a hook. Valley tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Franks misses with a combination
and Valley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Valley swings wildly with an uppercut but Franks uses good head movement to avoid it. Valley lands a body shot. Franks tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Valley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Franks misses with a hook from the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Franks. Franks misses with a punch on the inside.
Valley swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Valley swings wildly with an uppercut but Franks uses good head movement to avoid it. Franks tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A short right from Franks.

Franks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Valley's efforts to push away. A nice right hand lands inside from Franks. Valley works on Franks's body with a couple of short punches. Franks struggles to land a body shot inside as Valley controls his hands.
Franks just leaning against Valley, taking a breather. Valley throws a punch but it's blocked by Franks. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Valley as Franks tries to tie him up. A short left from Franks. Franks doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Franks throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Valleys head. Valley softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Valley blocking some punches.

Valley scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Franks doesn't seem bothered though. Franks throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Valley sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Franks throws a combination that misses enabling Valley to counter with a crisp jab. Valley uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Franks has time to react. Franks throws a shot to the body.

It looked like Valley wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Franks tries to bum rush Valley with a series of wild strikes but Valley uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Valley scores with a hook. Franks looks to score with a jab to the body but Valley is just out of range. Valley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Franks's head backwards. Dwayne Franks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valley staying out of range there. Franks darts in trying to clinch and Valley counters with a series of strikes. Franks will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franks waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Valley. Valley looks to score with a jab to the body but Franks is just out of range. Franks is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Franks throws a predictable looking body shot
and Valley makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Valley. Franks does a little dance to reset his feet. Franks throws a jab when Valley was well out of range. Franks throws a jab but it's blocked by Valley. Franks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Valley.

Valley is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Franks. Franks tries to bum rush Valley with a series of wild strikes but Valley uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Valley slips a straight right by Franks. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Franks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Valley.
Franks misses the shot to the body. It looked like Valley was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Franks. Franks tries to bum rush Valley with a series of wild strikes but Valley uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Franks works the jab nicely. Franks falls off balance throwing a combination
and Valley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dwayne Franks will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Valley thuds his right hand into Franks's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Valley scores with a nice strike. Franks misses with a double jab.

and Valley counters with a stiff right hand. Franks cracks Valley with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Franks misses with a straight right. A left lands for Valley.
Franks is rocked! Valley changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Franks is still on wobbly legs! Can Valley finish him? Franks walks straight into a right hand from Valley - that's dropped him! Valley jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Franks from any more punishment! Franks complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jean Paul Valley! Jean Paul Valley seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
