Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jabari Jelani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Apollyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dante Apollyon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jelani dives in and grabs Apollyon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Apollyon pushes down on Jelani's head and hops out.
Apollyon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jelani goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Dante Apollyon has been cut.
Apollyon has a takedown stuffed.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Apollyon.
Jabari Jelani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dante Apollyon.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jelani.
Jelani feints a jab promting Apollyon to slip. Jelani then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Apollyon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jelani looks for a takedown but Apollyon sprawls well.
Apollyon looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jelani.
Apollyon shoots in looking for a takedown but Jelani manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Apollyon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Apollyon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jelani to the mat! Jelani manages to get full guard.
Apollyon throws a sloppy strike and Jelani has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Apollyon is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Jelani!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jabari Jelani!
A relieved looking Jabari Jelani thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
