Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monty Jacoby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monty Jacoby is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Monty Jacoby!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jacoby.
No luck for Lesnar with that takedown attempt.
Jacoby lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Lesnar gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jacoby.

Jacoby has managed to clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Jacoby.

Jacoby works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jacoby must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
It looks like Jacoby might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lesnar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Lesnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jacoby moves away.

Lesnar tries for a takedown but Jacoby sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jacoby looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

A punch lands to the side of Lesnar 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Lesnar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Lesnar checks a leg kick nicely.
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown but Jacoby shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lesnar is breathing heavily.

Lesnar tries to keep at a distance but Jacoby has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jacoby can't get the takedown.

Jacoby has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lesnar regains guard immediately.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lesnar is looking to stand up but Jacoby isn't so interested in that idea.
Jacoby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lesnar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lesnar is trying to keep Jacoby in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jacoby lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lesnar is defended easily by Jacoby.
Lesnar wants to clinch.
Jacoby has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lesnar takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lesnar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The crowd cheers as Jacoby lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lesnar doesn't seem phased though.

Jacoby has hold of one of Lesnar's legs. Lesnar is fighting the takedown attempt but Jacoby gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lesnar tries to lock up and control but Jacoby gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
BOOM! Jacoby connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jacoby takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that Jacoby has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jacoby looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lesnar with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lesnar moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Monty Jacoby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters circle momentarily. Jacoby darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lesnar's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jacoby connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lesnar scrambles back to his feet.
Jacoby throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rocky Lesnar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jacoby wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Monty Jacoby comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jacoby has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
