Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aleks Breznhev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Brown will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Brown!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Brown does no damage.
Brown takes a swing at Breznhev's ribcage but misses.
Brown connects with a nice looking jab.
Brown throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Breznhev attempts a counter takedown but Brown avoids it well and moves away.
Breznhev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Brown misses with an uppercut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Brown enables Breznhev to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brown manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Breznhev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Breznhev controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Breznhev content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Breznhev advances position into side control!
You can see the frustration on Brown's face as Breznhev controls the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Brown is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Breznhev is controlling him well.

Breznhev really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Brown.
Brown is trying to get back to his feet but Breznhev has full control of the position and if anything, Brown has just worked his way into a worse spot.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Breznhev is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Breznhev gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Breznhev gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Breznhev apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Breznhev feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Breznhev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Breznhev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Breznhev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brown for as long as he can get away with.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Breznhev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Brown wants to stand but Breznhev is controlling the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Breznhev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Brown is trying to keep Breznhev in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Breznhev advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Breznhev moves out of range as Brown strikes.
Breznhev is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Brown.
Steve Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown throws an off balance right hand

and Breznhev counters with a takedown into side control.

Brown throws Breznhev to one side and escapes!
Brown misses with a combination

and Breznhev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Breznhev is standing up over Brown. Brown looks to escape but Breznhev dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Breznhev wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy.

Brown is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.

Breznhev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Brown is in a horrible position here. Breznhev smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Breznhev lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Brown! Breznhev sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Brown and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
