Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 2, fighting out of New York, Michael Carter Williams ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Thomas Hawk! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Hawk misses enabling Williams to counter with a crisp jab. Williams fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hawk walks into a left hand. Williams misses the shot to the body. Williams misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hawk.
Hawk connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Williams throws a looping overhand right but Hawk ducks down to avoid it. Hawk blocks a jab. Williams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hawk swings away with a leg kick that misses. Williams moves out of range as Hawk throws a body kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slow jab from Williams misses its intended target. Williams lands with a shot to the body. Hawk on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williams throws a right and a left that both miss. Hawk tries to counter by closing the distance. Williams throws a lazy right hand but Hawk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hawk throws out a counter right but Williams avoids it with no problem. Williams scores with a jab. Michael Carter Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams throws a looping overhand right but Hawk ducks down to avoid it. Hawk scores with a kick to the body.
Hawk throws a sloppy head kick and Williams counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Williams on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hawk. Hawk obviously looking to wear him down.
Hawk avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hawk misses with a looping right. It looked like Williams wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Williams takes a swing at Hawk's ribcage but misses. Williams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hawk throws out a counter right but Williams avoids it with no problem. Williams on the wrong end of a nice hook. Hawk dodges the punch combination from Williams .
Williams just misses with a punch to the body.
Hawk connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Hawk feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Williams 's calf. Williams blocks the body kick.
Hawk lands a nice looking body kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams misses with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Williams .
Hawk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Williams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hawk was well out of range. Poor timing from Williams . Hawk's corner calls for a 1-2. Hawk obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Michael Carter Williams has been cut. Williams connects with a crisp jab. A swing and a miss from Williams . Hawk walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Williams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hawk misses with a hook. Williams ducked under it nicely. Hawk misses with an uppercut
and Williams makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Hawk tries a low kick but Williams avoids it. Williams throwing a counter right hand but Hawk manages to avoid it. Williams stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hawk. Hawk takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawk blocks a low kick nicely. Williams showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hawk.
Williams throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hawk throws a push kick but Williams slaps the foot to one side. Williams throws an overhand right that lands on Hawk's shoulder, as Hawk tries to avoid the shot. Williams scores with a nice head shot. Hawk scores with a jab. Williams acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A big right from Hawk misses. Hawk has his takedown stuffed and Williams counters with a straight right hand. Decent striking displayed by Hawk there. Good exchange - Williams coming out on top. Hawk throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Williams to counter with a crisp jab. Williams is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hawk walks into a left hand. Michael Carter Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Williams rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hawk counters with a stiff right hand. Hawk on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Hawk is rocked! Hawk lets loose with a powerful body kick. Williams will feel that in the morning. Williams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hawk. Williams is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hawk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Williams throws a series of punches but Hawk moves out of range. A nice leg kick lands there from Hawk. Some wild striking there from Williams .

and Hawk counters with a nice leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams needs to keep his hands up - Hawk had a free shot at his head there. Hawk misses with a low kick as Williams jumps back. It looked like Williams wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Williams 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hawk connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Williams scrambles back to his feet. Williams throws a right hand that Hawk ducks under and follows up with a left that Hawk also avoids with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Michael Carter Williams will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Michael Carter Williams 's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Williams looks to score with a jab to the body but Hawk is just out of range. Williams tries to bum rush Hawk with a series of wild strikes but Hawk uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Williams checks a leg kick nicely. Hawk throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Williams stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Michael Carter Williams is winning the standup battle so far. Hawk throws an overhand right that lands on Williams 's shoulder, as Williams tries to avoid the shot. A little feinted left hand from Williams on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Hawk moves out of range as Williams strikes. Hawk steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Williams . Hawk ducks under a wild hook from Williams . We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams throws a jab when Hawk was well out of range. Hawk is pawing at Williams , trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Williams 's nose. Williams is badly hurt! Hawk pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Williams tries desperately to hold on but Hawk is relentless in his assault! As Williams receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Hawk away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Hawk!
