Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stein Lager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curtis Rodriquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stein Lager! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lager shoots in and bounces Rodriquez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Lager slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rodriquez wants to control but Lager postures up. Lager is trying to get an arm triangle but Rodriquez is defending well. Rodriquez is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lager wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodriquez keeps working. Lager working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. You can see the frustration on Rodriquez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lager thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rodriquez is looking to regain half guard here but Lager keeps moving and retains side control. Lager wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rodriquez, who protects the arm well. Rodriquez can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lager tries for a kimura but Rodriquez is defending well. Lager wants to take a breather but Rodriquez manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lager. Lager wants to control from the top but Rodriquez keeps moving. Rodriquez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lager is one step ahead there. Lager is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lager drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rodriquez dives on top into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rodriquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Lager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rodriquez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lager has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rodriquez has managed to get both his arms back between Lager's legs - danger averted. Rodriquez lands a couple of digs. Rodriquez trying to control but Lager is working from the bottom. Rodriquez with a nice head shot there. Lager looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rodriquez lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lager looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lager working for a triangle but Rodriquez defends it easily.
Rodriquez throwing strikes but missing. Lager looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rodriquez has picked Lager up and slammed him! Lager can't keep hold of the triangle and Rodriquez manages to pass to side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lager manages to get back to half guard. Lager looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lager looks winded! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lager taking some punishment here, with Rodriquez in his half guard. Rodriquez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lager looking for submissions off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stein Lager dominated that round. That's time! Rodriquez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rodriquez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lager back to the cage. Rodriquez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Lager closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Lager in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Rodriquez is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
