PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Faction (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Tatli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Faction!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Robert Tatli!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faction fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tatli shoots in but Faction avoids the takedown attempt easily.
It looked like Faction was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Tatli.

Faction tries to sprawl but Tatli drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tatli passes into side control, despite Faction's attempt to control the position.
Tatli remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Tatli looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tatli looks up at the clock and then as Faction takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tatli smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Faction is not content to let Tatli control the position.
Faction tries to bench press Tatli off him but Tatli keeps the position.
Tatli slows the pace down.
Tatli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Faction keeps working.
Faction struggling a bit here.
Faction tries to control but Tatli manages to take his back.
Faction is trying to stand back up.
Tatli gets his hands free as Faction looks to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tatli biding his time, controlling Faction.
You can see the frustration on Faction's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tatli is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Faction has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Tatli has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Faction taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Tatli doesn't care though - he's delighted!
